Corporate Communication: University of Pittsburgh Athletics Office

This was a group research paper that I had the pleasure of completing with another student in the M.S. Communication program who just so happened to also be a former football player at the University of Pittsburgh. It was this connection that inspired us to reach out to Pitt's athletics office for assistance on this paper in the form of interview data. This research assignment was completed as part of the curriculum for COMM 703: Corporate Communication Topics.

The goal for this research assignment was to shed light on how a Division 1 athletics office utilizes information and communication technologies (ICTs) to carry out daily operations, with the intent that other athletic departments/athletics offices could use our research to further their own operations. The goal was achieved in our eyes, though reaching out to other athletic departments would have furthered our success.

The primary essential learning objectives this assignment achieves are theory application, as the paper discusses media richness theory and the technology acceptance model, research methods, and professional practice.
